Yesterday, the world's largest 24000teu container ship, the first made by China, was successfully docked at No. 1 dock of Changxing Shipbuilding Base of Hudong Zhonghua shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. under China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., marking another major breakthrough in the construction of super large container ships by China's shipbuilding industry.
It is worth mentioning that on December 17, China's first large cruise ship successfully realized the milestone node of floating in the dock at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd;
On December 28, the world's largest B-type super large ethane carrier (vlec) with a cabin capacity of 99000 cubic meters was named and delivered in Jiangnan Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd.
In just half a month, the three major shipbuilding enterprises in Shanghai under China shipbuilding group have written a new chapter of three breakthroughs in China's shipbuilding industry.
This type of ship is independently designed by Hudong Zhonghua and has completely independent intellectual property rights. It has built six ships for EVA group. It is the largest container ship in the world at present and is known as the "Big Mac" at sea.
The ship has a total length of 399.99m, a profile width of 61.5m and a profile depth of 33.2m, and is equipped with a hybrid scrubber desulfurization device;
It is designed with the latest global technology of green environmental protection, energy conservation, high efficiency and safety owned by Hudong Zhonghua, and adopts exquisite ball nose bow, large-diameter propeller and energy-saving conduit. It has the advantages of rapidity and low energy consumption, and all performance indexes have reached the international advanced level.
The first ship out of the dock is also the first star product built after the upgrading of dock 1 in Changxing Shipbuilding Base.
In order to adapt to the new development trend of batch specialized construction of super large container ships and build a flagship enterprise of China's construction of large container ships, Hudong Zhonghua decided to extend the length of No. 1 dock from 520 meters to 660 meters in 2020 to meet the needs of one 24000 TEU Container ship built in half series;
It also meets the demand of mainstream shipowners to receive one new ship every two months, forms the annual capacity of 5 ~ 6 super large container ships, and comprehensively improves the construction speed and efficiency.
At present, dock No. 1 has become the busiest specialized production facility for large container ships in China.

It is understood that in 2021, Hudong Zhonghua undertook 13 orders for large container ships and delivered 6. At present, the company is building 19 large container ships, and the delivery date has been scheduled to 2025.
